The television anime The Salty Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me will hit Japanese small screens later this year. Info and promo follow.
The novel by author Kazami Sawatari and illustrator Aitiki titled Shiotaio no Sato-san ga Ore ni Dake Amai (Cynical Koharu Has a Soft Spot for Me) has been published since 2019 and is still ongoing.
The coming-of-age romantic comedy depicts the first love between two people - except each one has unrequited love for the other. Sōta Oshio works at a café. He learns one day that Koharu Sato, a classmate known as "cold Sato-san," is actually just shy and awkward. From that day forward, the distance between the two quickly narrows.
The television anime is produced by the legendary studios Tezuka Productions, directed by Fumihiro Yoshimura (My Wife Has No Emotion), written by Takashi Aoshima (The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really Love You), with Daisuke Okushima responsible for the character designs, and Shun Narita (365 Days to the Wedding) composing the music.
Expected in Japan within the year, here is the first promo and visual:
