Studio Ghibli working on two films


The year opens with a message from the Studio Ghibli, now in full production on several fronts, two titles above all. Below all the information currently available.




Interesting news from the Japanese animation studios Studio Ghibli, published right at the beginning of the year. In addition to the production, now certain on two titles, there is also confirmation of the opening (expected in 2022 in Nagoya) of the Ghibli Park and of news expected for the next Olympics Tokyo 2020.

The first film announced is How Do You Live? (Kimi-tachi wa Dou Ikuru ka), directed by Hayao Miyazaki, inspired by a story by Genzaburo Yoshino. Announced a few years ago, 15% of the film has currently been completed, as reported by the historic producer Toshio Suzuki in a NHK interview. But while Hayao was previously able to complete 7 to 10 minutes of animation per month, the amount is now about one minute per month. So a very slow production of which a release date is not yet known.

There are no official informations on the second film. From rumors about a film made with a greater amount of animations in Computer Graphics, under the direction of Goro Miyazaki, son of Hayao.
