Read...
The new animated series Star Trek: Lower Decks will be available for CBS All Access subscribers, the return in animations after after almost fifty years of the Roddenberry's series. Below the first trailer.
The first series to see the characters of the well known series Star Trek in animated version was produced in 1973 (2 seasons - 22 episodes) with the voice of the actors of the original series.

The new animated series arrives almost half a century later and is developed by Emmy Award winner Mike McMahan (Rick and Morty), produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions, the new office of the CBS which works on animated productions, Secret Hideout and Roddenberry Entertainment.

With the animations produced by the independent studios Titmouse (Big Mouth), the series, as the title anticipates, will have no famous protagonist of the original series, but will follow the events (comedians) of the employees of the lower decks, their social life and the adventures they will experience on the USS ship Cerritos, in the year 2380.

The series will premiere on August 6 on the CBS All Access streaming service, for a total of 10 episodes of half an hour each.
