Investigations into the cyberpunk world born from the mind of Masamune Shirow are ready to return this summer in the new anime The Ghost in the Shell.This is the fourth animated adaptation or reboot of Masamune Shirow's manga, or, if you count all the films and animated series, the tenth adaptation.The new television series promises to be faithful to the original manga, adapting the visuals for new generations.The late 1980s manga created by Shirow, which became a phenomenon capable of inspiring and influencing the cyberpunk thriller genre for decades, after films and series arrives at Science SARU studios, founded just over ten years ago by producer Eunyoung Choi and director Masaaki Yuasa.The Ghost in the Shell marks the directorial debut of Mokochan (Dan Da Dan, Scott Pilgrim Takes Off), a student of director Yuasa. The screenplay is written by science fiction author EnJoe Toh, while Shuhei Handa (Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, Spriggan) is the character designer and executive animation director.
