Spongebob surrenders to the pandemic and chooses VOD

Read...
The new film of the funny yellow sponge, Spongebob Movie: Sponge on the Run whose release has already been postponed a couple of times, surrenders to the pandemic (which in the US is all other than downhill) and choose the digital way.
Directed by Tim Hill with the story written by Kyle McCulloch and Paul Tibbitt and scripted by Michael Kvamme, Glenn Berger and Jonathan Aibel, the film will tell the new adventures of Spongebob and his friend Patrick traveling to find the domestic snail Gary after she has been kidnapped. As they face the pleasant and dangerous moments of this exhilarating rescue mission, SpongeBob and his friends will prove that there is nothing more powerful than a true friendship.

The film, currently without a release date, is scheduled for 2021 first in premium VOD and then on the CBS All Access service. In the middle ticks Netflix which has acquired the distribution rights in all the countries covered by the service, but without the obligation to wait for the release of the platforms mentioned above.

A little confusion that we will only know more about next year.

Here the last official trailer:
