GKIDS reveals a new trailer for the anime produced by Shaft Animation Studio: Fireworks, a sci-fi/drama movie that will arrive in US theaters this summer.
The original anime Uchiage hanabi, shita kara miru ka? Yoko kara miru ka?, is directed by Nobuyuki Takeuchi (former Studio Ghibli animator for Spirited Away) and Akiyuki Simbo (Madoka Magica), written by Hitoshi One and produced by Genki Kawamura (Your Name).

The story talks about Shy Norimichi and fast-talking Yusuke, two boys that are goo-goo-eyed over the same elusive classmate, Nazuna. But Nazuna, unhappy over her mother’s decision to remarry and leave their countryside town, plans to run away and has secretly chosen Norimichi to accompany her. When things don’t go as planned, Norimichi discovers that a glowing multi-color ball found in the sea has the power to reset the clock and give them a second chance to be together. But each reset adds new complications and takes them farther and farther away from the real world – until they risk losing sight of reality altogether.

Released in the Japanese theaters in August 2017, the movie will arrive in USA thanks to GKIDS the next July in selected theaters.
