Moms and chinese dumpling for the new Pixar short

Read...
As usual a short movie is always distributed with the Pixar films. The next will be titled Bao and will have, for the first time, a female director. [UPDATE]
Distributed in theaters with Incredibles 2, the new short film is written and directed by Domee Shi (pictured below), the first woman director of the studios to direct a short movie.

Produced by Becky Neiman-Cobb and Pete Docter and John Lasseter as executive producers, the 8-minute short tells the story of a Chinese mother (director's native country) who, after seeing her children grow up and move away to college, finds the opportunity to bring out her maternal instinct when she discovers that a chinese dumpling comes to life. But even this sooner or later will grow up.

The new director works in Pixar studios since 2011 as a story artist for Inside Out and The Good Dinosaur and now for Toy Story 4.

The short movie will be officially presented at the next Tribeca Film Festival in New York City at the end of April.
