New promo for the anime Armored Trooper Votoms directed by Oshii

The first of two anime films of the new Armored Trooper Votoms project produced by Sunrise and Production I.G is shown with a new promo.

The story centers on Chirico Cuvie, an armored soldier on the run from his own army after being betrayed while on a mission to steal military secrets. Hidden in a den of criminals and refugees, he must fight to survive, only to discover that his fate is tied to that of a mysterious woman who could shake the entire galaxy.

Armored Trooper Votoms is a mecha anime series directed by Ryosuke Takahashi and produced by Sunrise. It first aired in 1983, followed by series, OVAs, and feature films. The last production in the franchise was in 2011.

The new project Armored Trooper Votoms: Die Graue Hexe (orig. Soko Kihei Votoms Haiiro no Hexe) includes two anime films, the first of which is directed by Mamoru Oshii (Patlabor, Ghost in the Shell, Jin-Roh), the flagship project of the 50th Anniversary celebrations of the Sunrise studios, a project made in collaboration with Production I.G.

Distributed by Bandai Namco Filmworks, it is expected in Japanese theaters on November 20.
