New trailer for Keiichi Hara's anime Lonely Castle in the Mirror

The new anime from A-1 Pictures studios is titled Lonely Castle in the Mirror, expected later this year, comes with a new and long trailer.
The book that inspired this film, released in 2017, won the Japan Booksellers award and the King's Brunch award and topped the magazine's book of the year list Da Vinci. Written by Mizuki Tsujimura, it is titled at home Kagami no Kojo, internationally Lonely Castle in the Mirror.

Director of the anime is Keiichi Hara (Colorful, Miss Hokusai, The Wonderland) at the A-1 Pictures studios, with a scheduled release in theaters Japanese by winter 2022.

The story is set in a tranquil neighbourhood of Tokyo, seven teenagers wake to find their bedroom mirrors are shining. At a single touch, they are pulled from their lonely lives to a wondrous castle filled with winding stairways, watchful portraits and twinkling chandeliers. In this new sanctuary, they are confronted with a set of clues leading to a hidden room where one of them will be granted a wish. But there's a catch: if they don't leave the castle by five o'clock, they will be punished. As time passes, a devastating truth emerges: only those brave enough to share their stories will be saved.

The release in Japan is scheduled for December 23, 2022.
