The Fantasia Film Festival is approaching, which will kick off in a few days in Montreal (Canada). Below line-up and info.
The Fantasia International Film Festival, North America’s premier genre film festival, is thrilled to unveil the final titles for this year’s Axis program, the festival’s animation section, as well as associated events and our esteemed Satoshi Kon jury. Fantasia will run from 5 to 25 August 2021 as a virtual event geo-locked for Canadian audiences, with select films screening in Montreal, QC.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to stop-motion titan Phil Tippett, working on the original Star Wars trilogy, Twilight Saga, Robocop, Jurassic Park, Starship Troopers and many more.
This proud moment coincides with the long-awaited completion of Tippett's personal masterpiece: after thirty years of work, Mad God will see its North American premiere at Fantasia this summer.

Among the previews will be The Deer King, the new anime from Production IG [news] which will compete in the "Satoshi Kon Award", awarded by:
- Hefang Wei (Jury President) - Director, Artistic Director, Co-founder Weilaï Productions
- Ashkan Rahgozar - Director, Writer, Founder and CEO Hoorakhsh Studios
- Kalp Sanghvi - Director, Writer, Co-founder Ghost Animation Collective

And then Circo Animato 2021, Things That Go Bump In The East 2021, Radical Spirits, short films, feature films, live-acting and much more.
