Netflix has released new information about the One Piece anime reboot, including the release date. Below is all the info and a new poster.
WIT Studio (Spy x Family, Attack on Titan) has begun production on The One Piece, a reboot of the popular Eiichiro Oda anime, starting in 2023. This reboot joins the current anime (which has already surpassed 1150 episodes) and the successful live-action series also produced by Netflix.
The streaming platform has just announced that the first season will be released in February 2027 and will consist of 7 episodes for a total of approximately 300 minutes (40 minutes per episode).
This first season will cover the first 50 chapters of the original manga.
The anime is directed by Masashi Koizuka (director of Attack on Titan), with Hideaki Abe serving as assistant director. The chief animators and character designers are Kyoji Asano (Attack on Titan, chief animator of SpyXFamily) and Takatoshi Honda (animation director of the film The First Slam Dunk). The scriptwriter is Taku Kishimoto (Haikyu!!, Ranking of Kings), the art director is Tomonori Kuroda (A Certain Magical Index, A Certain Scientific Railgun), and the animation producer is Ryoma Kawamura (Moonrise).
