The sixth anime film of the new remake of the legendary Space Battleship Yamato will hit theaters in Japan this summer. Info and promo below.
Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199 (originally Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199) is the sixth film in the new remake series dedicated to the Space Battleship Yamato.
Directed by Naomichi Yamato (Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans), Harutoshi Fukui is supervising and writing the script, as with the previous films in the series. Hideki Oka also returns as co-writer of the script, Nobuteru Yuki returns as character designer, Junichiro Tamamori, Mika Akitaka, and Yasushi Ishizu are in charge of mechanical designs, Hiroyuki Goto is the CG producer alongside Shosuke Uechi and Tomohiro Yoshida is the sound director.
As with previous anime in the series, the late producer Yoshinobu Nishizaki is credited for the original work, while his son Shoji Nishizaki is credited as chief production supervisor. Akira Miyagawa returns to compose the music alongside Shu Kanematsu. Akira Miyagawa's late father, Hiroshi Miyagawa, the original composer of Space Battleship Yamato, is also credited for the music.
The sixth film is expected in Japanese theaters on June 26.
