Presented at the latest AnimeJapan, the comedy Tenbin, inspired by a light novel, is shown with a trailer. Find promo and info below.
The light novel Tenkō-saki no Seiso Karen na Bishōjo ga, Mukashi Danshi to Omotte Issho ni Asonda Osananajimi Datta Ken (The neat and beautiful girl at my new school was my childhood friend who I played with and thought was a boy) abbreviated as Tenbin, is written by Yu Hibari and illustrated by Siso, published since 2020.
The youth romantic comedy story centers on Hayato, who transfers to a high school in the city. There, he is reunited with Haruki, whom Hayato remembers as a boy he used to play with seven years ago. Only, Hayato now realizes that Haruki is actually a girl.
The anime is directed by Chuan Feng Xu, with scripts supervised by Deko Akao (Komi Can't Communicate), and characters designed by N-Nei Kurahashi, based on the original illustrations. The music is composed by Ryosuke Nakanishi, Naoki Tani, and Yuri Morita.
