The new animated series in the Star Wars universe is dedicated to Maul - Shadow Lord, as announced a year ago. Below is the official teaser trailer.

Chains can be broken. Empires can be shattered.

These are the words that introduce the new animated series Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord, created by Dave Filoni, recently appointed chief creative officer of Lucas Film Studios after Kathleen Kennedy.

The series is set after the Clone Wars, with Maul (voiced by Sam Witwer plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire.

Produced by Lucasfilm Animation, it will be distributed on the Disnet+ platform starting April 6 with two episodes released per week until May 4.
