Irish studios Cartoon Saloon release the trailer for the short film Éiru written and directed by an Italian artist. Info and video below.
The short Éiru is written and directed by Giovanna Ferrari and produced by Nora Twomey, co-founder of the studios based in Kilkenny, Ireland.

The Italian artist has worked on many feature films and series throughout Europe mainly as an animator and storyboard artist. She worked in France for 10 years and then joined Cartoon Saloon studios in 2014 where she is now the head of story director. In 2018 she won an Emile Award for her work on The Breadwinner. She is also a storyboard teacher for Animation Workshop and at Bournemouth University.

The short film tell the story of Éiru, the smallest child of a mighty and powerful clan of Iron age Irish warriors. When the village well mysteriously dries up, she can finally prove herself worthy of her clan's name by descending into the belly of the earth and facing whoever or whatever has stolen their water.

Éiru is the story of a child in search of a challenge, and a goddess in search of a champion.
