The action role-playing game NieR:Automata becomes an anime

The action role-playing video game produced by Square Enix and PlatinumGames titled NieR: Automata becomes an anime. Below the very first animations.
The television anime will be titled NieR: Automata Ver 1.1a, directed by Ryouji Masuyama (Blend S, Hello WeGo!) at the studios A-1 Pictures, with Jun Nakai author of the character design and lead animator and MONACA author of the music.

NieR:Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machines.
Humanity has been driven from the Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to take back the planet, the human resistance sends a force of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war between machines and androids rages on... A war that could soon unveil a long-forgotten truth of the world.

Available for PlayStation 4 from 2017 and then for all other consoles and PCs via Steam, the video game has sold between physical and digital copies as many as 6 million units.

The anime will arrive on small Japanese screens on January 1, 2023.
