First animations for the anime Lonely Castle in the Mirror

The first animations and information have been published on the official website of the future anime Lonely Castle in the Mirror.
The original story is written by Mizuki Tsujimura and is titled at home Kagami no Kojo, the name of the book and the anime film still in production.

Director of the anime is Keiichi Hara (Colorful, Miss Hokusai, The Wonderland) at the A-1 Pictures studios, with a scheduled release in theaters Japanese by winter 2022.

The story is set in a tranquil neighbourhood of Tokyo, seven teenagers wake to find their bedroom mirrors are shining. At a single touch, they are pulled from their lonely lives to a wondrous castle filled with winding stairways, watchful portraits and twinkling chandeliers. In this new sanctuary, they are confronted with a set of clues leading to a hidden room where one of them will be granted a wish. But there's a catch: if they don't leave the castle by five o'clock, they will be punished. As time passes, a devastating truth emerges: only those brave enough to share their stories will be saved.

The book, published in 2017, won the Japan Booksellers award and the King's Brunch award and topped the list of books of the year in Da Vinci magazine.
