New teaser for Masaaki Yuasa & Science Saru new anime Inu-Oh

Unveiled on our pages last summer, the new anime Inu-Oh by Masaaki Yuasa (Mind Game) is shown with a new teaser trailer and poster.
Based on the novel by Hideo Furukawa, the story takes place in the 14th century in Japan and stars Inu-Oh, born with unique physical characteristics that horrified adults cover with clothing, including a mask. on the face. One day he meets a girl named Tomona, a blind biwa player, and as Tomona plays a delicate song of intricate destiny, Inu-Oh discovers an incredible ability to dance.

Featuring animations produced at Science Saru (Japan Sinks 2020, Devilman Crybaby), the film is directed by Masaaki Yuasa; the concept of the design is by Taiyou Matsumoto (Amer Béton); the character design by Nobutake Ito, and among the animators who took part in the project are some legendaries including Atsuko Fukushima, Yasuhiro Nakura, Norio Matsumoto, Yoshimichi Kameda, Tokuyuki Matsutake and others.

Premiered at the Venice Film Festival in September 2021, it was initially selected to be released in Japanese theaters last year, but was moved to the beginning of Summer 2022.
