The well-known fantastic-humorous tale by the Irish writer is about to arrive in an animated version thanks to a new international production.
The Canterville Ghost is a famous youthful tale by Oscar Wilde from 1887 with a disturbing and moving story with touches of humor, which follows the ghost of Sir Simon de Canterville, who has lived in his ancestral castle for 300 years. His quiet life will be disturbed when an American family - a minister, his wife and their four children - move into the house. The ghost tries with all his might to scare them, but will fail miserably. In addition, he will develop a deep bond with the teenage daughter of the family.

The project is from the Indian based Toonz Media Group in partnership with (Robert Chandler's)Space Age Film, the English (Gina Carter and Stephen Fry's) Sprout Pictures and the American Align. The film will be directed by Kim Burdon, animator of Ethel & Ernest in his directorial debut, with the screenplay written by Giles New and Keiron Self and the international distribution of the L.A. based Cinema Management Group (CMG).

Also announced the first and important names of the voice cast: the actor and producer Stephen Fry will meet his old partner Hugh Laurie (Dr. House), as well as Freddie Highmore (The Good Doctor), Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter), Miranda Hart and Toby Jones.

There are no dates yet as production has just started.
