The distributor Netflix has released today a splendid animated version with drawings made in watercolor of the opening theme of the new anime by Masaaki Yuasa and Science Saru studios. Below the video.
Japan Sinks: 2020 is a catastrophic genre anime, adaptation of a science fiction bestselling novel by Sakyo Komatsu, with the story that follows all the members of a normal family with their lives destroyed when a series of shocking earthquakes throws Japan into total chaos.
The opening song is titled a life by Ryuichi Sakamoto and Taeko Onuki and this short video clip is directed by Yuasa himself and shows us the protagonist family of the series in a happy period before the events of the anime.
Abel Góngora directed the animations, while Asami Murakoshi and Kiyama Mizuki draw the key animations.
The anime, we remind you, will debut on Netflix worldwide on July 9th.
