First trailer for Wish Dragon, new USA-China co-production

Read...
Production kicked off about three years ago, a new animated feature film produced by Base Animation, Sony Pictures Animation and other Chinese studios. Finally we can see the first trailer.
The title is Wish Dragon, a comedy whose story is a sort of reinterpretation of the genius of the lamp with elements typical of Chinese culture. The story will lead us to discover the "greatest desire of all time" with a young boy who runs into a magical dragon who lives in a small teapot.

At the head of the project we found the writer and director Chris Appelhans (visual artist for Monster House, Coraline, Fantastic Mr. Fox, Puss in Boots) and the producer Aron Warner (Shrek, The Book of Life). The film is a Chinese co-production between animation studios Base Animation, and Beijing producers Sparkle Roll Media Corporation (owned by Jackie Chan, here also voice of the Dragon), and later also with the studios Sony Pictures Animation on board, studios fresh winners of two Academy Awards (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and the short film Hair Love).

The release of the title was initially scheduled for 2020 but only the Chinese studios have begun the campaign rollout with first advertising materials, while Sony has not yet announced any dates or international materials.

Here the first trailer and posters:
