Read...
The well-known streaming service increasingly focuses on Japanese productions. A new deals between Netflix and six important Japanese authors for new titles is just a few days away.
After the arrival on the platform of the Studio Ghibli's film, already considered an important milestone, Netflix continues to invest in oriental animated productions with important authors.

The new deals includes: CLAMP, Yasuo Ohtagaki, Shin Kibayashi, Otsuichi, Tow Ubukata and Mari Yamazaki.

Taiki Sakurai, head of the Netflix Anime section, admits "This is an agreement that is part of a larger strategy, aimed at supporting the world of Japanese Anime, giving space to innovative and daring authors, and get them to fans around the world."

The same network adds "Collaboration with these six authors will lead us to explore new themes and bring them to new media such as publications and consumer products, to better engage the public by going beyond the small screen."

Take a look to the authors:

The Clamp are an (almost) all-female group that has created manga like Tokyo Babylon, The White Princess, Magic Knight Rayearth and the best known Cardcaptor Sakura.

Yasuo Ohtagaki, born in 1967, is the father of Moonlight Mile and the most recent and best known Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt, Gundam: Thunderbolt - December Sky, Kidou Senshi Gundam Thunderbolt Gaiden, Kidou Senshi Gundam Thunderbolt Gaiden and Mobile Suit Gundam Thunderbolt: Bandit Flower, which he wrote and some also designed.

Shin Kibayashi is known to the general public for having written Kindaichi Shōnen no Jikenbo, a work that later also moved to video games, films and anime.

Otsuichi is an author of predominantly Horror stories, such as Goth, but also a screenwriter.

Tow Ubukata is considered a small literary prodigy with numerous awards won for his works. He collaborated on the manga Le Chevalier D'Eon.

Mari Yamazaki is the author of Thermae Romae, with whom she managed to combine Japanese traditions against the background of ancient Rome. Manga, anime and films are blockbusters in Japan.

We await further information on the works that will be produced.
