The legendary yellow-skinned heroes The Simpsons are planning a very special episode for the new season, paying homage to a TV series already defined cult. Below info and posters.
Born from the mind and hand of Matt Groening, the award-winning television series reaches season no. 30 with over 660 episodes in assets.
One of the classic events of each season is the "Treehouse of Horror", a special episode in which the authors usually leave all their creativity free with tributes to films, books, icons and more.
The next special of this saga will be episode 666 and, therefore, what better opportunity to achieve something special and, as the authors themselves admit "as we planned from the beginning".
The animated series icon will be paying homage to Netflix fan favorite Stranger Things, and also to Guillermo Del Toro's Oscar-winning sci-fi romance, The Shape of Water.
Products by Fox Animation, now part of Disney empire, the episode will be broadcast in the US next October 20. Here the promotional poster created for the event:
