Naked Peak - the pilot of the Lovecraft-Inspired Anime
The pilot of a successfully crowdfunded, Lovecraft-inspired new anime debuts online in full and free version. It can be found below along with the first information.
It is titled Naked Peak - Climb the Mountains of Madness, a mountaineering anime inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft produced by Forest Limit LLC and THINKR Co., Ltd., based on the tabletop role-playing game Mountains of Madness - Summit of the Evil Gods.
Synopsis: A flight to Antarctica turns into a frantic rescue mission after the plane mysteriously vanishes. Efforts to locate the missing passengers lead rescuers to discover the plane's course set for a never-before-seen mountain range - the largest on Earth.
Towering over 10,000 feet above sea level, the Everest-eclipsing eighth wonder of the world draws attention from the world's best climbers and thrill-seekers. Although they have conquered the tallest peaks in the past, Earth's new vertigo-inducing heights are surpassed only by the dreadful horrors awaiting at the top.
The idea is to produce a feature film, already in production thanks to the first crowdfunding that raised 1400% of its goal with over 1 million dollars (119 million yen) thanks to almost 12,000 backers and awarded the 2022 CAMPFIRE Crowdfunding Award.
The project is planned by MadaraUsi, directed by Kumagai Yusaku, with characters designed by Umishima Senbon, creatures designed by Oyama Ryu , animation director Kurosaki Chiemi, art director Kato Yasutada and music by Isekaijoucho.
