Gundam The Witch From Mercury - teaser trailer of the new anime series
Bandai Namco has released the very first teaser and first information of the new series Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury which sees, for the first time, a female protagonist.
Bandai Namco and Sunrise have released the first teaser trailer of the first tv series dedicated to the Gundam franchise after seven years.
Little information about the production has yet been released, but it should be set in an alternate universe of the U.C. Century, with its own story line and starring a young female pilot.
The role of women - soldiers and civilians - has always been fundamental in the Gundam saga. In all Gundam sagas. And there has been no shortage of female Pilots placed in the foreground - like Crhistine in Gundam 0080 - but it is the first time, actually, that a female pilot has been placed at the center of a serial project. Her Mobile Suit is Gundam Aerial. Two other machines also appear in the video, the Gundam Lfrith and the Beguir-Beu (some of these new MS seem to be rearrangements of units that appeared in other productions.
The studios also announced Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Prologue this summer, a real prologue to the The Witch From Mercury series whose broadcasts will instead begin in October 2022 on the MBS/TBS network.
