The King of Atlantis - Aquaman - has his own animated special

Studios WarnerMedia Kids & Family and DC have announced the arrival of an animated special for the well-known DC universe character who lives underwater.

Aquaman: King of Atlantis is the title of the three-part project that will be released on the HBO Max platform every week starting next October 14.

The new animated series from Warner Bros. Animation features a playful retelling of the iconic DC superhero and tells an original story about Aquaman's early adventures as king of Atlantis. Among the protagonists will be Aquaman's royal advisor Vulko, warrior princess Mera and a fun roster of characters on epic underwater excursions filled with colorful animations, monstrous creatures and thrilling battles.

Victor Courtright (ThunderCats Roar!) and Marly Halpern-Graser (Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) are showrunners and executive co-producers, with James Wan (the director of live action Aquaman) serving as executive producer alongside Michael Clear, Rob Hackett and Sam Register (Teen Titans Go!).
