The true story In Waves arrives in animations on Netflix in December

Released in French theaters a few months ago, the feature film In Waves is now set to reach television screens worldwide. Details, release date, and a trailer follow below.

In the story we meet AJ, a reserved high school student in Los Angeles who spends his days drawing and skateboarding with his friends. Kristen is an energetic surfer who finds joy and freedom in the ocean. When they meet, curiosity evolves into deep love: Kristen teaches AJ to surf and shares its historical connection to Hawaiian culture. As their relationship grows closer, AJ is inspired to preserve their connection by drawing their story.

An animated true story set against the sun-soaked surf culture of Southern California, In Waves explores the joy of finding your soulmate, the courage it takes to live life to the fullest, and the enduring power of love to shape who we become and what we leave behind.

Presented at Cannes and Annecy, and released in French theaters last July, the film will have a limited theatrical run in other markets - handled by Netflix - starting November 27, followed by its release on the platform on December 11.
