The anime Happy Kanako's Killer Life will debut next April

The anime Happy Kanako's Killer Life has just been announced by TOHO Animation. Find details and the first promo below.

Happy Kanako’s Killer Life (orig. Shiawase Kanako no Koroshiya Seikatsu) by Toshiya Wakabayashi is set to be adapted into a new television anime, following an initial 2017 adaptation distributed by Crunchyroll and a live-action series (2025). The original manga was published from 2012 to 2018.

Main character is Nishino Kanako. She sure hates her job, and is only too happy to snag the first new gig that comes her way. She never expected that her interview would be at an agency for contract killers…or that she'd be really, really good at bumping people off! Kanako doesn't have a ton of self-confidence, and adjusting to her new life as an assassin isn't the easiest. Will she ever earn the respect of Sakurai, her prickly but kinda hot new coworker?

Produced by the studio Drive, the anime is directed and written by Shinji Takamatsu (Gintama). Yoshiyuki Okubo serves as chief animation director and character designer.
