Terraforming - The Dr. Stone anime will have a sequel

Dr. Stone, the well-known anime about humanity's catastrophic end and fresh start on Earth, is getting a sequel. The announcement video follows below.

The green light has been given for the production of the new anime Dr. Stone Terraforming, based on the manga by Riichirou Inagaki and Boichi - which was published on Weekly Shonen Jump from 2017 to 2022 - and the subsequent "Terraforming" story arc featured in the 27th volume.

The story takes place in the distant future, over 3,700 years after a catastrophe that petrified all of humanity. The first to awaken is Senku Ishigami, a brilliant young scientist who must work hard to rebuild society, find the formula to awaken others, and create literally anything through science. But even the new society will be swayed by the worst that the previous one has produced.

The first Dr. Stone TV anime aired in 2019, followed by Dr. Stone: Stone Wars in 2021, Dr. Stone: New World in 2023, and the fourth and final season, Dr. Stone: Science Future, in 2025 - all available on Crunchyroll.

Announced last week at "Stone Fes. 2026", Dr. Stone Terraforming is also produced by the renowned studio TMS Entertainment.

While we await further information and dates, here is the announcement video:
