Artemis Fowl returns with an animated series produced by Disney

Disney is developer a new animation serie ispired by the novel series by Eoin Colfer featuring the young genius Artemis Fowl. Below is the first poster.

The character created by Irish writer Eoin Colfer (pronounced "Owen") - who recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of the first novel with the "25 Years of Artemis Fowl" event at New York Comic Con - is returning in animated form on Disney's popular streaming platform.

The series centers on thirteen-year-old genius Artemis Fowl, who discovers an underground world inhabited by armed, dangerous, and surprisingly technologically advanced fairies. Using his intellect, he manages to capture one of them and exploit her abilities and technology for his own ends - whether for good or ill.

Spanning over ten published novels, the series has been translated into more than 48 languages and has sold over 35 million copies. A live-action adaptation, also produced by Disney, was released in 2020 but fell woefully short of expectations.

"I am proud and delighted to be part of the formidable team that is putting the Artemis Fowl animation on screen", said author Colfer. "Everyone is so talented and so positive that I feel certain the fairy world is in excellent hands."

With Colfer serving as executive producer alongside Ben Juwono and Colleen Evanson, the series will be available soon.
