The irreverent teddy bear TED stars in an animated series

Ted, the star of Seth MacFarlane's two irreverent films, arrives in an animated version featuring a star-studded voice cast. Details and the first promo below.

TED: The Animated Series is the animated show that will delight fans of TED, the teddy bear who starred in two live-action films (2012 and 2015) and a prequel series (2024) - all created by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy, American Dad!).

It is an adult animated series created by MacFarlane himself alongside Paul Corrigan and Brad Walsh, who also serve as co-showrunners. The 2D animation is produced by the California-based Rough Draft Studios.

Film actors Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, and Jessica Barth return to voice their respective characters, joined - of course - by creator MacFarlane, who voices TED.

The story picks up twelve years after the events of the second film: John and his inseparable friend Ted are neighbors, both with families and dead-end jobs. We follow the antics of this lovable, pot-smoking duo as they egg each other on with terrible ideas regarding marriage, parenthood, and the challenges of adulthood.

With the premiere set for December 17 on Peacock (owned by NBCUniversal), launching with the first 8 episodes, followed by more, here is the first promo:
