Pokémon: Wild Card is the new anime film announced for 2027
The Pokémon Company has announced that a new anime film is in production, titled Pokémon: Wild Card. Below are the first details and a promo.
Pokémon: Wild Card tells the exciting story of a Pokémon TCG player and his partner Mimikyu. When the time comes to put their cards on the table, will they have what it takes to achieve their goals?
The film's animation is produced by CloverWorks studios, with direction by Katsuhiko Kitada (unit director for The First Slam Dunk and animation director for Attack on Titan), characters designed by Akemi Hayashi (Lazarus, Banana Fish), and production by Story Inc..
This is the 24th anime film in the franchise (seven years after the last one), announced during the closing ceremony of the Pokémon World Championships in San Francisco, and will be released in 2027.
