The novel Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story becomes an anime

The television anime adaptation of the novel of the same name, Little Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story, will debut in 2027. Info and the first promo below.

Aito Aoyagi published the novel Akazukin, Tabi no Tochu de Shitai to Deau (literally Little Red Riding Hood Encounters a Corpse on Her Journey) internationally as Red Riding Hood: A Detective Story in August 2020, and was later adapted into a manga in 2023.

The story follows Little Red Riding Hood, a girl living on the outskirts of the city. One day, she is forced to embark on a journey for a specific purpose. Strangely, however, she encounters a series of accidents along the way. Thanks to her innate curiosity and intelligence, Little Red Riding Hood sets out to solve each mystery.

The anime is produced by Benten Film, written and directed by Itsuro Kawasaki (Baban Baban Ban Vampire, Cardfight!! Vanguard), with character designs by Manami Minakata and Yūko Yahiro, Izumi Hoki (Detective Conan: Zero's Tea Time) and Hiroshi Kato (Astro Boy 2023) serving as art directors.
