Historical manga Historie is getting an anime expected in January 2027

Among the anime television series in production today, we show the first animations of Historie, an anime that will debut at the beginning of the new year in Japan. Info and video follow.

Hitoshi Iwaaki's manga has been running in Kodansha's Afternoon magazine since 2004 and has nearly 5 million copies in circulation to date. The series won the Japanese Government Ministry of Culture's "Media Arts" Award in 2010, the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize in 2010, and the "Best General Manga" award at the Kodansha Manga Awards in 2025.

A historical epic set in ancient times, Historie tells the story of Eumenes, a young man with quick wits and a vast destiny to fulfill. In time, he'll become a famed army commander and personal secretary to Alexander the Great-but the road to this glory is fraught with danger.

The anime is produced by LIDEN FILMS and is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
