The anime The Cat and the Dragon this summer in Japan

With the premiere expected this summer on Japanese small screens, below we show you the promo for the anime The Cat and the Dragon.

Amara's web novel, The Cat and the Dragon (orig. Neko to Ryuu), first published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in 2013, has been available in physical volumes since 2016 with illustrations by Mai Okuma and over a million copies in circulation. It was adapted into a manga by Izumi Sasaki in 2017 and is still ongoing. It is now being adapted into an anime produced by OLM studios.

The series is directed by Jin-Koo Oh (Tonbo!), with Mitsutaka Hirota (Edens Zero) on the scripts, Rie Nishino and Chiaki Kurakazu authors of the character design, and Takahiro Obata (The Promised Neverland) composing the music.

The fantasy story begins deep in the forest. Here, a fire-breathing dragon lives with cats endowed with magical powers. The dragon, orphaned before birth, was raised by a cat he met by chance. The cats welcomed him into their family, considering him a "somewhat unusual cat" capable of flying and breathing fire, and he watches over them.

Expected in July in Japan on Tokyo MX and affiliates, here's a promo:
