Witch and Mercenary ally in anime coming in 2027

The first promo of the television anime Witch and Mercenary is coming, based on the light novel of the same name that Bandai Namco will distribute in 2027. Info and video below.

Nothing in this world is more dangerous than a witch. The epitome of fear and terror, they can summon floods on a whim, conjure balls of fire out of the air, or even destroy entire countries overnight. Incur their wrath, and no one is safe. At least, that's what everyone thinks, and it's the very reason they all want Siasha dead. After yet another violent battle for her life, she teams up with Zig, a mercenary, and they depart for unknown lands to find somewhere she can live in peace. But is the pair any match for the lost magic and vicious monstrosities that lie ahead?

The light novel series Witch and Mercenary by Kaeru Chohokiteki (orig. Majo to Yohei) was serialized from June 2021 to December 2022, then adapted into a manga by Makoto Miyagi in 2024.

With animation produced by 8-Bit studios, the anime is directed by Shinpei Ezaki (Monster Strike The Movie), written by Taishirou Tanimura (Ace of Diamond), with Keita Matsumoto (Persona 5 the Animation -The Day Breakers-) as character designer, and Akiko Fujita (Dorohedoro, Jujutsu Kaisen) sound director and Rei Ishizuka (A Couple of Cuckoos) are the composers.

The premiere is scheduled for 2027 on the Japanese channel NTV.
