Dystopian anime Nippon Sangoku premieres exclusively on Prime Video
The premiere of the dystopian anime Nippon Sangoku and the platform that will broadcast it exclusively have been announced. All the info and a new trailer below.
Twin Engine studios have announced that Ikka Matsuki's manga, titled Nippon Sangoku (Japan Three Kingdoms), which has been published since 2021, will be getting an anime adaptation this April.
In a near-future Japan where civilization has regressed due to nuclear war, natural disasters, and corrupt governance. The nation fractures into three, plunging into a new Three Kingdoms era as each vies for supremacy. Aoteru Misumi, once an obscure local bureaucrat, sets his sights on the reunification of Japan. Armed with vast knowledge and exceptional eloquence, he steadily rises. The legend of the man later known as the prodigious strategist begins now.
The animations are produced by Studio Kafka, with Kazuaki Terasawa as director, Teruko Utsumi (Salaryman's Club, Sarazanmai, You and I Are Polar Opposites) as scriptwriter, Seiki Tamura as art director, Takahiko Abiru (Vinland Saga) as character designer and chief animator, and Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss, The Apothecary Diaries) as music composer.
Along with the new promo for Nippon Sangoku - The Three Nations of the Crimson Sun, the series' exclusive distributor has also been announced: Amazon Prime Video, which will bring it simultaneously to 240 countries and territories starting April 5, with broadcasts in Japan starting April 6.
