The cooking challenge begins in the Iron Wok Jan anime!

The new anime Iron Wok Jan!, based on the manga of the same name, in which chefs compete in the kitchen of a luxury restaurant, is expected later this year. You'll find the info and teaser trailer below.

The original Iron Wok Jan! manga centers on a brilliant young chef named Jan Akiyama, who works at a top class restaurant where he is constantly challenging Kiriko Gobancho, the granddaughter of the restaurant's owner and a great chef in her own right. While Kiriko believes that food should be made with the customer in mind, Jan believes that cooking should be used for competition.

Author Shinji Saijyo published the original manga from 1995 to 2000 in the Weekly Shonen Champion magazine.

The anime is produced by TROYCA studios, directed by Ei Aoki (Fate/Zero, Aldnoah.Zero, Girls Bravo), written by Makoto Uezu (Assassination Classroom), with Masako Matsumoto as character designer and chief animator, Atsushi Okuda and Chihiro Hanamura directing the cooking scenes, and Tomoki Kikuya (Bocchi the Rock!) composing the music.
