New promo for the Awajima Hyakkei opera school anime

The new anime from Madhouse studios will debut on Japanese small screens in April. Below is a new promo in which we also hear the theme song.

Awajima Opera School-where countless girls from across the country flock in hopes of one day standing on the big stage. As they work toward achieving their dreams of stardom, their time at Awajima is filled with as much friendship and admiration as competition and jealousy. The precious feelings of girls who are at once both classmates and rivals, tenderly captured in the portraits of an ensemble cast!

Takako Shimura's Awajima Hyakkei (Scenes From Awajima) manga has been running on the PocoPoco website since 2011 and follows the girls of an opera school, with each chapter focusing on a different girl.

The television anime is in production at Madhouse, directed by Morio Asaka (Chihayafuru, NANA, Galaxy Angel), with characters designed by Kunihiko Hamada (Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card, Chihayafuru, NANA), scripts by Yasuhiro Nakanishi (Chained Soldier, Shy, My Love Story With Yamada-kun at Lv999), art direction by Hideki Nakamura (INU-OH film, Mobile Suit Gundam Hathaway film, Inuyashiki Last Hero), and music composed by Takahiro Obata (Cinderella Nine, The Promised Neverland, SHOSHIMIN: How to become Ordinary).

The anime will premiere in April on Fuji TV and other networks.
