Zootopia 2 is the highest-grossing American animated film of all time
Last weekend brought news that was already well-known: the highest-grossing animated film ever for a Hollywood production is a Disney film.
Zootopia 2, which hit theaters worldwide in November 2025, has grossed a worldwide box office total of 1.706 billion dollars, split between $393 million domestically and $1.313 million overseas, including a whopping $619 million in China.
With these numbers the Disney film takes first place among the highest-grossing Hollywood animated films of all time, displacing two other Disney sequels from second and third place: Inside Out 2 in second and Frozen 2 in third.
The two Zootopias combined have grossed $2.73 billion worldwide.
