Plan�te - the journey of four seeds after the destruction of the Earth

An interesting project that mixes animation and live action is the French feature film Plan�tes, expected in theaters in 2026. Info and trailer below.

The story centers on four rat seeds or dandelions who, due to the explosion of planet Earth, set out to explore the universe in search of a new planet to settle on.

Planètes is the title of the feature film that blends CG animation, live-action footage, and high-speed camerawork in a unique mix directed by Momoko Seto, a director and researcher at the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research).

This dialogue-free film, presented at the latest Annecy, follows other short films made by the same director on the same themes.

Planètes will be released in French theaters on March 11, 2026.
