Lydia and the Mist Rider hits theaters in February
The sixth feature film produced by Canadians 10th Ave Productions is titled Lydia and the Mist Rider, expected in theaters in February.
Lydia and the Mist Rider takes audiences on a journey through a completely fantastical universe. When her older brother Thaddeus is mysteriously kidnapped by the Spellbinder, 11-year-old Lydia sets off to find him in the Misty Sea. Picked up by the crew of a flying ship, the Dolphin, Lydia becomes the apprentice of Ambrosia, an astromancer. Ambrosia is trying to find other children who have disappeared, including her own son. Determined to solve the mystery, Lydia must learn astromagic and ready herself to confront the Spellbinder.
This is the new feature film from 10th Ave Productions (The Legend of Sarila, Katak the Brave Beluga), directed by Emilie Rosas, who serves as screenwriter and co-director, along with Nancy Florence Savard, who also serves as producer, and Philippe Arseneau Bussières, who also serves as artistic director.
The story is adapted from the novel Le vaisseau des tempêtes and Le prince des glaces by Yves Meynard, which is being made into a film thanks to the support of Telefilm Canada, SODEC, Canada Media Fund, City of Québec, Shaw Rocket Fund, Bell Media/Crave, CBC/Radio-Canada, Harold Greenberg Fund, and Investissement Québec.
Set to hit Canadian theaters on February 20, here's a teaser:
