A princess's epic - new trailer for Mamoru Hosoda's Scarlet

New, lengthy trailer for Mamoru Hosoda's upcoming film, Scarlet. A mix of sci-fi and action, it's expected in theaters later this year. The new promo below.

The film centers on a strong princess named Scarlet who crosses space-time to enact revenge. Her father, the king, was murdered, and after her attempt at vengeance failed, she wakes up in "The Land of the Dead" which is brimming with madness. If one does not exact revenge on one's nemesis and end up here in this "place for the unfulfilled," they become "nothing" and disappear. The story follows Scarlet's boundless journey of vengeance.

Scarlet's never-ending quest for revenge is the new film written and directed by Mamoru Hosoda and created using new animation techniques at Studio Chizu, co-producers with Nippon TV and Sony Pictures, which will distribute it worldwide through its own offices, while in Japan it will be released under the Toho label.

The first release dates are November 25 in Japan and December 12 in North America (through Sony's Columbia Pictures).
