New promo for the anime The Summer Hikaru Died

Netflix has announced the worldwide release date for the anime The Summer Hikaru Died. A new promo is also available.

Adaptation of Mokumokuren's manga titled The Summer That Hikaru Died (Hikaru ga Shinda Natsu) that will premiere in summer 2021, the project is being directed by Ryohei Takeshita (Jellyfish Can't Swim in the Night, Pokémon: Paldean Winds) with the series script being supervised by him at Cygames Pictures. Yuichi Takahashi (Macross Frontier) is in charge of character design and animation direction.

The story is about two boys lived in a village: Yoshiki and Hikaru. The two did everything together... until the day Hikaru was encompassed by a mysterious light. That was when everything changed -Hikaru most of all. Yoshiki still wishes from the bottom of his heart to always stay by his side... but is there even a Hikaru left to be with?

Netflix has announced the anime's world premiere on July 5, while in Japan it will be broadcast on NTV and streamed for free on ABEMA.
