Clip for the anime film The Rose of Versailles now on Netflix
Now available on the well-known streaming platform, the anime film The Rose of Versailles presents itself with a new clip.
Set in the mid-18th century, the story takes us into the marriage between the two monarchies of Austria and France, between the fourteen-year-old Marie Antoinette of Habsburg-Lorraine and the French dauphin Louis XVI. However, their stories will increasingly intertwine with that of a beautiful girl, Oscar Françoise de Jarjayes, a young noblewoman whose father wanted to educate her as a man, so that she could become the general of the French royal guard as his descendants had been.
The film is based on the Shoujo genre manga (mainly aimed at a female audience) published in the early 1970s which was followed by the 40-episode anime series produced between 1979 and 1980 and today available on some streaming platforms.
The Rose of Versailles (orig. Gekijo Versailles no Bara) is directed by Ai Yoshimura (Ao Haru Ride) at the MAPPA animation studio, with the screenplay by Tomoko Konparu, the character design by Mariko Oka (The Demon Prince of Momochi House) and the music composed by Hiroyuki Sawano and Kohta Yamamoto.
Available today April 30 on Netflix, here is the clip "may our souls bloom in love":
