Felix and the Treasure of Morg�a - film produced entirely in Canada

After the animated feature film The Legend of Sarila (2013), the first CG film to be produced entirely in Canada, this year it's the turn of Felix and the Treasure of Morg�a.

The Quebec studios 10th Ave Productions have produced some animated films but only this one has not only the history linked to the Canadian province but also entirely financed within the state lines.

The story of Felix and the Treasure of Morgäa unfolds around the Magdalen Islands, an archipelago east of the coast of Quebec, and follows the adventures of Felix, a 12-year-old boy who heads out to sea in search of his long-missing father.

The film, aimed primarily at a young audience, marks the directorial debut of Nicola Lemay, an artist with 25 years of experience in the industry and several short films directed, with animations produced by 10th Ave Animation, a division within the production house set up in the suburbs of Quebec City. Production is supported by 17 partners, including Canadian public agencies, tax credit programs, some private investments, two broadcasters and three distributors.

With distribution rights already sold in the U.S., U.K., France and Spain, the film officially hits Canadian theaters this weekend.
