
He was born on May 15, 1959 in New York. He is a US film producer.
He began his career at
Walt Disney Pictures as executive producer of the live-action comedy
Cool Runnings - four sub-zero. After this experience he moved to the
20th Century Fox Animation, where he worked in particular in animation cinema. His work is done at
Blue Sky Studios, owned by Fox. Here he supervises and produces some of the studios' greatest hits such as
Ice Age, Ice Age 2, Robots and
Horton Hears a Who!.
In 2007 he left the Blue Sky and founded the animation studios
Illumination Entertainment, owned by
Universal Pictures, still active on animated films and live mixed films -action and animations.
In 2016 the giant
NBC Universal acquires the studios
DreamWorks Animation and Meledandri become in charge of both animation studios.
