Today is the birthday of the legendary
Tweety character of the animated series
Looney Tunes and
Merry Melodies of
Warner Bros.
It is a little bird constantly pursued, in vain, by
Cat Sylvester, born from the minds of
Bob Clampett, who conceived it, and
Friz Freleng, who he completed the design, in the episode "A Tale of Two Kitties" on November 21st 1942.
Always dubbed by the big
Mel Blanc (as for Sylvester The Cat and practically almost all the Looney Tunes), the little yellow canary is a male (although always believed to be female), naive, defenseless and very quiet, but shrewd, cunning and vindictive if provoked.
He has always lived in the house, in his cage (from which he can safely go out), together with his grandmother "Granny" and two other pets: Sylvester The Cat and Hector the bulldog.
