Irish traditions revive in Riverdance: The Animated Adventure

Read...
A new musical comedy set inside the most classic Irish traditions appears on the horizon. It's titled Riverdance: The Animated Adventure and the official voice actors have just been announced.
A young Irish boy named Keegan and Spanish girl named Moya journey into a magical world of the Megaloceros Giganteus who teach them to appreciate Riverdance as a celebration of life.

These are the first words that describe the story written by Dave Rosenbaum and Tyler Werrin and directed by Eamonn Butler (digital effects specialist) and by Dave Rosenbaum himself (former DreamWorks and Illumination producer), produced by Aniventure and River Productions together with Cinesite.

The classic atmospheres of the "Riverdance The Show" will hit the big screens with new compositions written by Grammy winner Bill Whelan, Irish singer Lyra and starring voiced by actors such as Pierce Brosnan (the King of the Megaloceros Giganteus) and two legendary Irish actors such as John Kavanagh and Brendan Gleeson. The two young protagonists will be voiced by the talented Sam Hardy (Keegan) and Hannah Herman Cortes (Moya).

"The breadth and depth of the comedic and dramatic talent of this cast resonates with every line. Their vast experiences and wild imaginations delivered brilliantly nuanced performances which will thrill their fans and charm new audiences," said the director Rosenbaum.

The music has been recorded in recent months by an orchestra of 73 elements in a large recording studio in Vienna, where it was possible to maintain adequate social distancing.

These are the words of the producer Moya Doherty: "This beautiful story brings Riverdance into a new and exciting phase, one which will allow families to enjoy the spectacle together. It reinforces the deep connection of Riverdance to Irish culture both at home and across the globe, and one which introduces Riverdance to a new, young audience many of whom will be experiencing Riverdance for the first time".

The project is still in the final stages of production. Here is the very first teaser and a visual:
