Enzo D'Alò was born in Naples on 7 September 1953. His first love is music, infact he began playing the saxophone at a young age. Over the years he abandoned his first passion to get closer to the cinema, using his musical preparation for the composition of the soundtracks of his films.

In 1983 he became director and screenwriter of television series and animation, obtaining international recognition.

In 1996 he debuted at the cinema with the direction of the animated film The Cyan Arrow, which he won two Nasti d'Argento awards at a David di Donatello award for the best soundtrack, composed by the singer-songwriter Paolo Conte.

In 1997, in collaboration with Osvaldo Cavandoli (author of the popular "Line"), he was responsible for the direction of the TV series dedicated to the adventures of Pimpa. In 1998 he directed his greatest success, La Gabbianella e il Gatto, based on the novel by the Chilean writer Luis Sepulveda, a great people and critics success, winner of a Nastro d'Argento award and the Audience Award at the Montreal Film Festival.
